Pinus strobus

white pine

Eastern white pine is impossible to avoid in New England, which makes it no less strong of a choice for garden use! Its soft evergreen needles, reasonably rapid growth rate, and height at maturity make it a classic choice for shade, especially in large lots. Grown in rows, white pines can provide excellent screening.
