Sourwood's glossy, oblong leaves turn brilliant shades of red in the early fall, long after hanging clusters of bell-like flowers have passed. In the sun, these trees reach heights of 20-30 feet, perfect as a focal point for the front or back yard, while in the shade they can stretch up to 40-50 feet seeking sunlight.
