Pycnanthemum virginianum

common mountain mint

Virginia mountain mint is misleadingly named, thriving best in average to moist, organically rich soils in sunny spots rather than at altitude. With its slightly fuzzy leaves and subtle white flowers, this aromatic plant is versatile and attracts a wide variety of bees, butterflies and moths. When planted in ideal conditions it spreads aggressively, so site accordingly!
