Rhododendron canadense 'alba'

white rhodora

Rhodora is common in bogs and other wet areas of New England, and grows well in wet parts of the garden. The blooms open before the leaves emerge, making the floral display that much more showy. Because this species rarely grows over 3-4 ft tall, it fits easily into tight spaces. 'Alba' is a white form of the species, not a cultivar in spite of the single quotes.
