This rare azalea is native only to a few counties on the Georgia-Alabama border, but grows beautifully up through Zone 5. It bears massive, long-lasting clusters of red-orange flowers in midsummer, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. It tolerates a range of light conditions but flowers best with more sun, preferring rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil.
