Typically found in wet meadows and wetlands, this species has long bloom and a strongly upright, clumping habit. Individuals are quite variable, with flower colors ranging from white to purple. It puts on an excellent, showy display, ideal for lower rain gardens, wetland plantings, pond edges, and any other moist, sunny locations.
