Actaea racemosa
black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa)
A. racemosa blooms during the later part of the summer, when few other blooms are present. Large, white floral spikes reach for the sky, supported by a base of large, divided leaves. Much loved by pollinators, this species can seed itself around nicely.
