Clematis viorna
leatherflower, vasevine
Vasevine is a fascinating perennial vine native to the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and parts of the Midwest. Light green tendrils spread laterally, best in full sun, and bloom to produce strikingly leathery pink bell-shaped or vase-shaped flowers. Though slow to establish, if planted in neutral, consistently moist, well-drained soils, this vine can start threading along fences and through the branches of nearby shrubs within a few years.
Spread: 10-12 ft
