Shrubby cinquefoil is a hardy, densely branching, low-growing deciduous shrub that grows very well in dry spots. It flowers profusely in summer, attracting all manner of short-tongued bees, and typically blooms yellow. 'Abbotswood' is a cultivar with a slightly blue leaf and white flowers with a yellow center. Plant on edges and borders and prune in late winter for the best appearance.
