Gillenia trifoliata

Bowmans root, Indian physic (Porteranthus trifoliatus)

Bowman's root bears sharply toothed leaves that lend a great textural element to the garden. The white flower petals attach to bright red peduncles, making for a showstopping sight. This plant will form a nice clump when located in humusy, average or moist soils.
