'Compacta' is a denser, shorter form of common inkberry, evergreen and suitable for most garden conditions. This fast-growing shrub will reach its full size in just a few years, attracting birds with its berries and serving as a more eco-friendly alternative to boxwood hedges. This shrub does sucker, so cut new shoots early in the season if you wish to limit horizontal expansion.
