Juniperus horizontalis 'Bar Harbor'

Bar Harbor juniper

Bar Harbor creeping juniper is a great cold-climate conifer selection by Mike Johnson at Summer Hill Nursery-- the needle leaves give the impression of a feathery texture, and the branches will hug the ground while forming a dense, attractive, blue-tinged mat. Its leaves retain a purpleish tinge when it gets enough sun, providing visual interest all year long. Plant in average to moist, well-drained soils as a ground cover-- once established, this plant can survive quite a bit of drought!
