Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Silver Run'

variegated leucothoe

Leucothoe is often used as a "solution plant" for dry, shady areas in need of filler and visual interest. White sprays of tiny, bell-shaped flowers bloom in early spring and new foliage emerges deep red. Glossy evergreen leaves on flexible stems arch and droop over eachother, providing at least three seasons worth of interest. 'Silver Run' is a vertically variegated cultivar that seems to also grow shorter than the native species.
