Baccharis halimifolia

Sea-lavendar looks nothing like the lavendar imported by the horticulture industry from southern France, but thrives in moist, salty, sun, where it offers up a delicate, foamy, lavendar-hued effect in summer. Dispersed throughout a broader area, this plant can give uniformly grassy patches an ethereal overtone. Common in salt marshes all along the East Coast and its estuaries, this herb is rarely found in the horticultural industry.
