Phlox paniculata 'Nicky'

Nicky garden phlox

Garden phlox are fairly typical in New England in spite of their native range just southeast of us, but the value of those late-summer flowers for color and nectar has gardeners thoroughly convinced. 'Nicky' is the trade name for a cultivar originally called 'Düsterlohe,' suggesting that this Phlox paniculata cultivar was developed abroad before being introduced to the American market. This is a fragrant, powdery mildew-resistant plant with big, bright pink flowers that bloom in mid-summer. Though resistant to powdery mildew, for best growth we still recommend providing this species with adequate space, moisture and sunlight.
