Scutellaria serrata

Showy skullcap

Showy skullcap is a shorter, more shade-tolerant skullcap, producing numerous blue flowers much beloved by a variety of wild bees. After blooming, the edges of the leaves begin to turn purplish, and by fall the leaves will have become rich purple, providing a lovely contrast in areas of mostly green.
