Tephrosia virginiana
goats rue
Goat's rue is a fine member of the pea family, growing best in sunny, sandy soils. It produces numerous compound leaves with fern-like leaflets, and the flowers are two-toned, with creamy white on top and a bright pink lower "lip." For this reason it is particularly attractive to butterflies.
